MANUFACTURERS' REPRESENTATIVE TRAINING

What 51 Years on the Road Taught Me About Building a Rep Agency That Lasts

The only course on the manufacturers' rep business taught by someone who actually built one - from a single line in 1973 to a nine-rep agency with national coverage, three Rep of the Year awards, and relationships that lasted decades.

FAQs

Is this course only for the music industry?

Not at all. The manufacturers' rep model works in virtually every industry that sells physical products through independent dealers. The pantyhose industry is larger than the music industry - and they use manufacturers' reps. The principles in this course apply regardless of what you sell..

I'm already a rep. Is this course for me?

Yes. Experienced reps consistently find value in the manufacturer relationship management, the formal rating system, the AI advantage content, and the exit planning module - subjects most reps have never had formally taught.

How long will it take to complete?

The video content runs approximately six to seven hours. Most students work through one module per week. Lifetime access means you can revisit modules whenever they become relevant.

What makes this different from other sales courses?

This course was built specifically for the manufacturers' rep model by someone who ran a rep agency for 51 years. It includes real primary source materials no other course has - actual commission statements, signed rep agreements, territory marketing plans, and expense records from 1973.

What if I have questions after I enroll?

Each lecture has a comments section where you can ask questions. Ed monitors these and responds personally.

What Dealers Said When Ed Retired.

"All the vendor reps in my phone have the brand(s) they rep in the name as well — except yours. In my contacts it just says 'Ed Rider.' It needs no explanation."

- Scott, Musical Depot, Florence, SC

"You are one of the last real reps that actually cared about the dealer."

- David, Finkelstein Music, Wilmington, NC

"We've worked together for 33 years and I can't recall a single time where you did me wrong."

- Jerry, Music City, Asheville, NC

"Just saying thank you doesn't seem enough. I genuinely acknowledge and am grateful for your role in and influence on my life's path. You'll be missed but always remembered and appreciated."

- Phillip, Redphish Music, Wilson, NC

"You've been a friend to me, my dad, and mother now for 42 years, as we met you as our rep many years ago."

- Mike, JML Music, Fayetteville, NC

"The first rep that walked in my fledgling music store ($54 a month rent) in 1980. Always supportive and with a smile, and always great advice — one of the best!"

- Jay, Music Loft, Chapel Hill, NC
